At the top of the main Ministry Scheduler Pro window, you will see 3 menu options: File, Edit, and Help.

File

Concurrent User Mode

Once you have entered your data, you can choose to activate concurrent user mode, which allows multiple people with a licensed copy of MSP to use the program at the same time. To activate this feature, click on the File menu at the top of the MSP window and select, “Turn on concurrent user mode…” This is turned on for the license, and only needs to be activated by one machine. Once on, any other computer with a licensed copy of MSP for your church will be able to open and use MSP at the same time. Note that when concurrent user mode is on, all interaction with MSP will take a bit longer, because the database is constantly synching with the MSP web servers to save changes and reflect those changes on all other machines immediately. This feature will also change what informiaotn is available to you in the File menu of the program.

When Concurrent User Mode Is Turned ON

Open Schedule
Brings you to the Schedule pane to open a saved schedule.

Open Recent Schedule
Allows you to choose from schedules that have recently been open on this computer.

Save Database
Saves any data you have changed since opening MSP. In concurrent user mode, this automatically happens each time you make a change.

Reload Database
Refreshes your database with the information on our servers.

Backup Database…
Allows you to save a backup file of your database locally to your computer.

Rebuild Database
Rebuilds the database to fix any minor data inconsistencies.

Turn OFF concurrent user mode
Concurrent user mode is turned ON and all data is being saved in real time. This way, multiple users can make changes to the database at the same time without running the risk of overwriting each other’s changes. If concurrent user mode is OFF, data is saved only when you close the program or if you go to “Save Database”.

Import Volunteers…
Allows you to upload a .csv or .txt file of volunteers to import or update their information in MSP. See more on this in Importing Volunteers.

Synchronize Volunteers with…
Allows you to synchronize your volunteers with certain volunteer management systems. For more information on synchronizing, see Synchronize Volunteers With External Church Management Software.

Password Protect MSP
Allows you to set a password so that anyone who tries to access MSP on this computer will need permission to enter the program. This is a separate password from your administrator password, which you used to set up this subscription. This will not apply to other computers who have access to MSP.

Quit
Allows you to quit the program.

When Concurrent User Mode Is Turned OFF

Open Schedule
Brings you to the Schedule pane to open a saved schedule.

Open Recent Schedule
Allows you to choose from schedules that have recently been open on this computer.

Save Database
Saves any data you have changed since opening MSP.

Backup Database…
Allows you to save a backup file of your database locally to your computer.

Revert Database
Takes the database back to the last time it was saved, which in most cases is the state the database was in at the time it was opened. All changes between the present and that time will be un-done.

Empty Database
Will delete the entire database – volunteers, ministries, services, etc.

Turn ON concurrent user mode
Concurrent user mode is OFF and data is saved only when you close the program or if you go to “Save Database”. If concurrent user mode is turned ON, all data is being saved in real time. This way, multiple users can make changes to the database at the same time without running the risk of overwriting each other’s changes.

Restore from Auto-Backup…
Select to restore the most recent or an older copy of the database as auto-backed up by MSP. An automatic backup of the database is done each time the program is closed, and when restoring one of these auto-backups, MSP will replace the current database with the older version.

Restore Schedules from Auto-Backup…
Similar to “Restore from Auto-Backup” however this affects schedule files only. Schedule files are separate from the database itself.

Rebuild Database
Rebuilds the database and makes sure all of the data is consistent.
